Leil Koch

Leil is the proud Owner and President of Equity One Real Estate, Inc. and lives on the slopes of Haleakala. Born and raised in Minnesota, Leil majored in Clinical Psychology at Pacific University in Oregon where he received his degree in 1979.

He was a Disc Jockey (DJ) on Maui for two years when disco was the rage and is also the Executive Producer for Lahaina Records. Since 1994 Leil has been the President and Publisher for "Real Estate Maui Style" Magazine.

In his spare time he studies Ki-Aikido. He was awarded the Shodan black belt in March 2002 and the Nidan 2nd Degree Black Belt in 2003. He also assists in training the Maui Police Department Recruits twice a year.

Leil has served as the 1996 President for the Maui Board of Realtors as well as held the office of President for the Hawaii Association of Realtors in 2000.

In 1992 he received the prestigious CCIM designation (Certified Commercial Investment Member) and served as the Hawaii CCIM Chapter Treasurer in 1995 and held the office of President in 1997. He has served on numerous committees for the national CCIM Institute and became their Region II Vice President in 1999. Notably he participated in their Leadership Academy in 2004, their Strategic Planning Committee, Professional Standards Committee, Knowledge Management Task Force and is the Presidential Liaison for 2005-2006.

Since 1989 Leil has generously served in a leadership capacity for the Professional Standards and Arbitration Committee for the Realtors Association of Maui, holding positions as Chair and Trainer. He also currently creates the monthly MLS Statistical Report for the Realtors Association of Maui with their Executive VP.

One of the highlights of Leil's career was jump-starting the Maui Board of Realtors Presidential Scholarship Fund through various tournaments held since 1996. He is a current member of FIABCI, the International Real Estate Federation as well as the Institute of Real Estate Management, where he received his CPM (Certified Property Manager) designation in 2002.

He is also a Certified International Property Specialist (CIPS) as well as a Certifed Real Estate Brokerage Manager (CRB).

For the National Association of Realtors, Leil has served on their Federal Taxation Committee, Professional Standards Committee as well as their Strategic Planning Committee. He was a Director for NAR in 2002.

The list doesn't end. He really is a regular guy with an uncanny ability to lead the leaders in the real estate industry. Despite all of his titles and travels, he remains a humble man and will always be known as our boss.
